IP66/IP67 112dB and 121dB harsh environment/marine sounders and 15/25W loudspeakers Released 29 November 2002 E2S, European Safety Systems, has launched environmentally protected versions of two of its high performance industrial sounders and loudspeakers. Sealed to either IP66 or IP67 to give total protection against the entry of dust and protection against immersion in one metre of water for 30 minutes, the sounders and speakers are ideal for use in marine or other harsh environments where they will be exposed to extreme ambient conditions. The 112dB and 121dB sounders offer a user-selectable choice of 45 different tones, each of which can be assigned to any one of three stages, giving more than four million potential combinations. On two-wire multi sounder systems, the units are automatically synchronised to avoid interference problems between adjacent units. The loudspeakers have 100%, 50%, 25% and 12.5% tappings to enable the sound level to be matched to the environment if required. Both sounders and loudspeakers feature a large termination area for easy installation. The sounders operate from 24 and 48VDC or 24, 110 and 230VAC; the units are highly efficient, minimising current consumption. The loudspeakers are available with either 8 or 16 Ohm impedance; a 100V line transformer version is also produced.
